Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADDOLORATO (EDWARD) PIZZI It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Ed Pizzi on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Bethania Personal Care Home at the age of 81. Ed was predeceased by his son Tony and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Rosaria; his sons Rick (Jodie) and Nick (Cindy) and their children Anthony and Michael; his sister Antoinetta (Angelo); his brother Tony; as well as his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was a warm and caring grandfather whose love for his grandsons was boundless. Ed was born on April 6, 1928 in San Angelo del Molise, Italy and moved to Canada in 1952. He lived in Thunder Bay for many years before moving to Winnipeg in 1971. He retired as a Roadmaster after 35 years of service with C.P. Rail. Ed loved reading, music, and the subjects of history and geography as well as debating politics. Over the years he learned to communicate in many languages and had a lifelong interest in understanding different cultures. He truly enjoyed being around people and relished lively conversations. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus of Holy Rosary Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Ed may be made to Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0C9.
